Good News Club

Good News Clubs

Good News Club is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship in which trained teachers meet with groups of children in public schools, homes, community centers, churches, apartment complexes, just about anywhere the children can easily and safely meet with their parent’s permission. Each week the teacher presents an exciting Bible lesson using colorful materials from

CEF Press. This action-packed time also includes songs, Scripture memory, a mission story and review games or other activities focused on the lesson’s theme.

As with all CEF ministries, the purpose of Good News Club is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and establish (disciple) them in the Word of God, as well as connect them to a local church.

Our Good News Clubs are run by teams of teens working with an adult coach.  These teens attend monthly training and have a practice run for each club they hold.  This unique method is building up the next generation of skilled Christian workers with a strong basis in sharing the Gospel.

“We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.”

Christian Youth In Action

Christian Youth in Action is a year-round program for teens, college students, and young adults. It all starts at camp each summer. This is an opportunity to learn and put into practice effective teaching techniques and evangelistic tools used to reach children with the gospel of Christ. You will experience the thrill of being a soul winner as well as becoming a better teacher and Christian service worker.

Teenagers that have completed their 6th-grade year are encouraged to attend camp. At this training camp, you will receive materials to help you teach children wherever you go! Most of our trained campers serve in churches working with the children’s ministry, they proclaim God’s truths in Good News Clubs in the public schools and also serve in training other teenagers throughout the state. Our small groups for studying, practicing, and actually doing the ministry provide you opportunities to partner and fellowship with teenagers from all over Alaska!

Alaska State Fair

Alaska State Fair - 2024

August 16th-September 2nd

In the midst of every Alaskan Fall, as the leaves change colors and the mornings grow more crisp Alaskans flock to Palmer, AK for the Alaska State Fair. While they are there, they just might find a little more than food and fun. CEF Alaska hosts a booth each year dedicated entirely to sharing the message of the Gospel with any fair-goer interested in listening. Using the Wordless Book and a red caboose booth the Word of God is proclaimed at the fair. Those privileged to staff the booth have seen salvation and confession of sin. They have handed out tracts, Truth Chasers worksheets, and many Bibles. Currently, Kim Walker, CEF Anchorage/Mat-Su Coordinator, is working to pull together a map of Bible-teaching churches. Many who have come through the booth have asked for church suggestions in their area and we are excited to have this list ready for the upcoming fair season.

Get in touch with us to find out ways you can get involved with this ministry!

Rural Missions

We partner with rural churches and missionaries in ministry events such as 3-Day Clubs, 5-Day Clubs (VBS), and youth ministry throughout the year. In addition, we also provide training seminars for adults and teens in their own community so they will be equipped to step into the roles of teaching and ministry leadership.

There is great joy in being an instrument God uses to help children accept His gift of salvation and watching teens throughout Alaska grow in faith and learn to share the Gospel with others as they serve alongside CEF and their church leaders.

Your prayers and financial support of CEF rural ministry will make it possible for this work to continue and grow. The biggest hindrance for those that desire to travel to the villages to participate in CEF ministry is finances. Will you prayerfully consider supporting this area of ministry of CEF of Alaska?

Mailbox Club

The Mailbox Club is a Bible correspondence club. Children, teens, and adults can now sign up to receive these Bible lessons through the mail or online.  Bible lessons are sent to the student through the mail.  The student reads the lesson, fills out the question page and mails it back or submits it.
